Equinox 116 is a Reconnaissance-class Cell specialising in information gathering and investigation through the utilisation of individuals with paranatural abilities.
The Cell operates out of the first floor of the St Mary’s and King James Library, which forms part of the University of St Andrews. Previously owned by Equinox 2, the site was transferred to Equinox St Andrews upon its formation and contains a detailed archive containing detailed documentation on various historic and on-going paranatural phenomena as well as relevant evidence and [REDACTED] pertinent to on-going investigations. Equinox 2 retains close connections with the Cell and retains a skeleton group of administrative officers who operate the lower floor reception. These staff members however answer directly to Equinox 2 and are not considered official members of the Cell.
Due to the Cell’s powerful abilities, most of Equinox St Andrews’ work is carried out in the field where they are able to make use of their abilities to determine what has happened, what is happening and what will come to pass. While the Cell’s skills are best utilised when inspecting contemporary paranatural events, the Cell has also started to develop a reputation for resolving several previously cold-cases. Success rates in this regard are still pending.
Due to the Cell’s cohesion and abilities, all activities carried out by Equinox 116 must be done in an environment free from immediate paranatural or physical threat and preferably under the watch of a member of Equinox 2 or, failing that, another Equinox Cell on the orders of the Court. Individuals assigned to accompany Equinox 116 are under instructions to provide security only and to not impede the Cell in their activities unless absolutely necessary.
